NCS Residents Learn a New Craft

April is National Volunteer Month, and we are so grateful for all of our amazing NCS volunteers!

Ever since NCS’s founding in 1982, volunteerism has been at the heart of our organization.

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a positive sense of community amongst our residents. Knowing that neighbors in their community care for and are interested in taking time out of their days to spend time with our clients has such a positive impact on their wellbeing.

This week, clients at the NCS residence were joined by NCS volunteer, Shirley Mowery to try out a new activity: candle making! Shirley has been volunteering with us for over a year now, and our clients had a blast creating personalized scented candles with her.

If you are interested in taking part in some of the exciting volunteer opportunities we have planned this month, there’s still time to sign up on our website!
