Na'eema and Lydia Show Up and Deliver
3,495. That’s the number of meals that were donated to the NCS Residence between March and September.
And each of those meals were distributed by two staff members: Na'eema and Lydia. They stepped up and coordinated all of the meal deliveries, going above and beyond their job requirements to make sure that the NCS residents had meals they could safely eat in their rooms when it wasn’t safe for them to eat together.
Na’eema was working part-time for NCS as the CHIRP human services professional and joined the staff at the NCS Residence full time as a Case Manager. “Adding Na'eema’s knowledge of community resources and experience working with vulnerable populations has been extremely helpful during the pandemic,” said Robert Yancey, Chief Program Officer.
Lydia, who retired in 2018, came out of retirement when the NCS Residence needed additional help at the start of the pandemic. The residents already knew and respected her and in addition to delivering meals, she has been training the younger staff and sharing her positive spirit with them. “I can’t think of a bigger commitment to NCS’s mission,” shared NCS Residence Program Director Margarita Ramos.
Thank you Na’eema and Lydia for your dedication to NCS and the clients we serve.
