Ivory's Passion

“I’m passionate about cosmetology and art. I used to always watch my mom do her hair, and I was always passionate about her doing different styles. I knew I wanted to open a salon and have my own clients come in and make them feel comfortable. I’m in cosmetology school now and we just finished a book. I feel very excited and honored to have a page in it. I called my page Mothers Know Best and spoke about how my mom inspired me to go into cosmetology. I hope to inspire others. My dad was a famous artist and he used to paint New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Twin Towers. I have one of his paintings and it inspired me to be passionate about art. I like to paint flowers and hearts. Two women used to come here and teach us art and donate supplies and from them I learned and then I taught jewelry making to others here. My parents are deceased now but I feel like they’re here with me and they guide me and motivate me to continue to follow my dreams and be successful.”
